Our experimental project brief was to create three test animations and one final 1 minute long animation using whatever materials we liked, provided we didn't use computer software.
For my first
experimental test, I used marbles to build shapes and patterns. A disadvantage
of using marbles is that the light easily reflected off of them. As well as
this, they took a long time to animate as each individual marble needed to be
moved separately. However, I think that this test was successful since the
marbles could potentially be an outline for many different shapes. I especially
liked when they were arranged into flower shapes, all turning around. I think
that this part of the animation looked effective and in my opinion, making
patterns worked better than trying to make a scene (such as the rocket that I
created out of marbles).
